چکیده

We give a description of the steps leading to a robustification of a dose–response study. The original experiment was designed and described by Rosenberger and Grill (1997) and has since been discussed by several other groups of researchers. Our robustification consists of redesigning the experiment so as to build in flexibility over a range of possible link functions, including the logistic link assumed by the original experimenters. We consider as well an asymptotic Neyman–Pearson test of the validity of the assumed link function. Copyright © 201 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Application of Outlier Robust Nonlinear Mixed Effect Estimation in Examining the Effect of Phenylephrine in Rat Corpus Cavernosum

Ignoring two main characteristics of the concentration-response data, correlation between observations and presence of outliers, may lead to misleading results. Therefore the special method should be considered. In this paper in to examine the effect of phenylephrine in rat Corpus cavernosum, outlier robust nonlinear mixed estimation is used. in this study, eight different doses of phenylephrin...

Changing Therapeutic Paradigms: Predicting mCRC Lesion Response to Selective Internal Radionuclide Therapy (SIRT) based on Critical Absorbed Dose Thresholds: A Case Study

A 65 year old male with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) in the liver was referred for selective internal radionuclide therapy (SIRT) following a history of extensive systemic chemotherapy. 90Y PET imaging was performed immediately after treatment and used to confirm lesion targeting and measure individual lesion absorbed doses. Lesion dosimetry was highly predictive of eventual response in ...

A free user friendly program for evaluation of radiotherapy plans based on different dose response models

Introduction: Radiotherapy (RT) plan evaluation using dose response models has become a feasible approach in routine clinical practice. Although there are several tools for this task, they suffer from limitations including number of different dose response models and parameters. In the present study, we aimed to develop a free program for RT plan evaluation based on a variety ...

A robust optimization model for distribution and evacuation in the disaster response phase

Natural disasters, such as earthquakes, affect thousands of people and can cause enormous financial loss. Therefore, an efficient response immediately following a natural disaster is vital to minimize the aforementioned negative effects. This research paper presents a network design model for humanitarian logistics which will assist in location and allocation decisions for multiple disaster per...

A Randomized Comparative Study Between Three Times And Five Times Weekly Phototherapy With NBUVB For Treating Chronic Plaque Type Psoriasis

Background: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that is estimated to affect 0.6% to 4.8% of the general population. The optimum number of NB-UVB phototherapy sessions is yet to be determined. The aim of this study was to compare therapeutic effects of NB-UVB in treating chronic plaque type psoriasis three times weekly vs. five times weekly. Materials and Methods: This study was des...

Dihydrotestosterone, a robust promoter of osteoblastic proliferation and differentiation: understanding of time-mannered and dose-dependent control of bone forming cells

Objective(s): The present study was aimed to evaluate the time-mannered and dose-dependent effects of 5α-dihydrotestosterone (5α-DHT) on the proliferation and differentiation of bone forming cells using MC3T3-E1 cells. Materials and Methods: Cell proliferation was analyzed using MTS and phase contrast microscopic assays. Osteogenic differentiation was assessed through a series of in vitro exper...
